About The Surrey Dog Training Company

A little about us

The Surrey Dog Training Company was set up in 2014 offering puppy classes and walking. Now we offer a range of group classes from Puppy foundation skills to fun agility, Hoopers, scent work and additionally, we also offer 121s and behaviour consultations.

Our training is based on proven ethical science-based methods, which makes learning for your dog fun & enjoyable, keeping them motivated which in turn helps build a strong bond between dog and handler.

We are based in Surrey but will travel for 1:1 and behaviour consultations. We have 2 locations for group classes, either in Lower Kingswood or Banstead Surrey.

Meet The Team

Julia Bouwmeester

Owner at the Surrey Dog Training Company.

Formal training & qualifications gained through the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT) and Behaviour (IMDTB). Member status since 2014.

Prior to becoming qualified spent 3 years attending training seminars, continuous study and practical workshops. Attends ongoing courses & workshops to enhance learning & keep up to date with modern training theory and practices.

Has completed 2 mentorships with Steve Mann and Dave Brice at IMDT/IMDTB, to further enhance experience and knowledge.

Instructor and assessor for IMDT (Institute of Modern Dog Training).

City and Guilds accredited scent dog handler and instructor, qualified through the College of Scent Dogs.

Qualified Hoopers instructor through Canine Hoopers World.

Member of UK Dog Behaviour and Training Charter.

Julia shares her life with her 10-year-old German shepherd, Cara.
